Today has been a travelling day. We said goodbye to our hosts and set off to Shizouka city where I managed to collect a stamp. Unfortunately we were a little close to missing the train, the mountain roads were rather treacherous so Michael had to go slowly to avoid hitting another driver on a blind bend!
Then we got the shinkansen to Nagoya where a very friendly train driver showed us where to catch our next train which was to kiso-fukushima. It looked like a lovely little town but unfortunately we didn’t have time to look round before our next train. We saw a Japanese skink though which was super cool.
I did manage to collect another stamp at the tourist information office though! Then we got our last local train to Suhara (which very small and very busy) where our host showed us around our beautiful edo period house and gave us some recommendations on places to eat. It’s our first Japanese style room so I’m excited to try sleeping here.
Michael had to do some work so I worked on my micro pig drawing. I’m not sure about the colours as I’ve only brought a limited selection to save space. They look a bit odd. I might try to colour them on my tablet instead.
Then we snaffled some Japanese snacks to replenish our hoard at the local 7-Eleven. They even had a smoothie maker where you buy a pot of fruit and it blends it for you!
At this one we actually managed to find some fruit. My belly will be thanking me. We managed to pick up some more suncream but we’re in some need of bug spray as we’re running low and going walking tomorrow.
When we got back we changed into our provided yukatas and have just relaxed.
